Dear Fellow Singers:
While summer is still very much in swing, September is just around the corner and that means it’s time for the Crescent Choral Society members to join together to make music as a part of the 36th season of Crescent Concerts!
Our Fall concert (November 4) promises to be an exciting one for singers. It’s “Basically Brahms” which means we’ll be singing the beloved Brahms’ German Requiem (the two piano version). We’re coupling the Requiem with selections from the Liebeslieder Waltzes.
We’re looking forward to this inspiring concert and we hope to have you back to sing it with us! We are also looking to recruit new members for the Crescent Choral Society. If you have friends or acquaintances who enjoy singing and can commit to our rehearsal schedule, please urge them to join us for this November 4th concert.
Rehearsal Dates? Eight Monday evenings, Sept. 11, 18, 25, Oct.2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 all at 7:30pm. Friday, November 3 is the final rehearsal. Time TBA by the Director.
Our performance is Saturday, November 4 at 4:00pm. Yes, an innovation; we’re trying a new start time with the hopes of attracting new audience members at this earlier hour.
Looking ahead, we also have two concerts, both in April, one of which will be performing Mahler’s Symphony No.2 with the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra. Please join us for what promises to be an exceptional season of music!
In the meantime, until September, we wish you a pleasant summer.
