Begun in 1980 as a modest concert series centered on the Church Choir, Crescent Concerts has matured into a multi-disciplinary presentation of vocal, instrumental, choral and orchestral music bringing high quality musical events to the residents of the City of Plainfield and surrounding communities. Programming for the series is diverse, and ranges through solo voice and instrumental performances, chamber groups, bell choirs, to full choral/orchestral spectaculars.
Crescent Concerts schedule generally includes concerts by the Crescent Choral Society, a volunteer choir whose membership is open to the community (often accompanied by professional orchestra), the Crescent Singers, a smaller hand-picked chorus that typically sings a cappella, and also outside professional and amateur groups and solo artists. Of particular note, is the annual Showcase for Exceptional Young Artists, featuring talented local young musicians, age 16 and under, chosen by competitive audition. If you wish to be included in the Teacher mailing list for this concert, send email to webmaster@CrescentConcerts.org.
